Scripture of the Day #5

Scripture: Joseph Smith History 1:16
But, exerting all my powers to call upon God to deliver me out of the power of this enemy which had seized upon me, and at the very moment when I was ready to sink into despair and abandon myself to destruction—not to an imaginary ruin, but to the power of some actual being from the unseen world, who had such marvelous power as I had never before felt in any being—just at this moment of great alarm, I saw a pillar of light exactly over my head, above the brightness of the sun, which descended gradually until it fell upon me.

Scripture #3

Scripture: D&C 89: 18-19

Thoughts:

So, I tried out for Soccer last week, and made it, so yeah! But I know I would not had made it if I didn't rely on the Lord, through lots and lots of prayer. Anyway, that is obviously not apart of the scripture of the day. I had my first soccer practice for my school team, and it was intense. I couldn't help but think of this scripture, and if you haven't read it yet then you should, because once you read it you will never forget it. In fact you should actually go and read the whole chapter, and trust me it may seem long, but it really isn't, the chapter I mean.

Scripture of the Day #2

Scripture: Matthew 1 and Matthew 2

Thought:
(ch. 1) I love how even after Joseph heard that Mary was having a child, and had a right to be concerned, he still trusted the Lord, especially after he was told the thing in her was of the Holy Ghost. I say that takes a lot of faith I don't care what anyone else says.
(ch. 2) The wise men seemed to be a neutral people at first, because they were sent by King Herod to kill the little child, which was Jesus. In the end though they decided not to when they saw him, because they were so filled with the Holy Ghost that they did not, and ended up helping them in the end.

By the way, today is my HALF BIRTHDAY!
YEAH!!!

Scripture of the Day #1

Scripture: Judges 16

Thoughts:

Never give into temptation no matter how tempting, because it will come back to us in the future, and wi will wish to die, or in other words have the mountains fall upon us/be covered and out of God's sight only because we will be so ashamed of our sins. It seems like to me even people like samson who are very blessed and have the spirit with them can get themselves into trouble that can even lead to death, but to me I don't think Samson was too bright, to me he was more of an airhead, because he was so clueless.
