Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I hope you are all doing well, and spending as much time as possible with your families.
I feel in this day and age we, as a general people, have forgotten the true meaning of our holidays, and why we celebrate them. I think this picture will sum up my meaning quite well...

Some families have even abandoned the traditional feast just to get the best bargains and deals. All I'm saying is that we should celebrate this time that we have now for its true purpose.

Here's the story of Thanksgiving if you are interested in this link.

What Are You Fasting for?

So, today is fast Sunday, and I have a friend in the hospital being tested to see what medications she might need to help her with her autism, and the other disorders she has. She has been in the hospital for a few weeks now, and the doctors still don't know what medications she needs. I just want to ask a little favor of you, could you pray for my friend Audrey? And also for the doctors so that they might be able to figure out what she needs to help her.

Builders or Wreckers

I watched them tearing a building down,

A gang of men in a busy town.
With a ho-heave-ho and lusty yell,
They swung a beam and a sidewall fell.
I asked the foreman, “Are these men skilled,
As the men you’d hire if you had to build?”
He gave me a laugh and said, “No indeed!
Just common labor is all I need.
I can easily wreck in a day or two
What builders have taken a year to do.”
And I tho’t to myself as I went my way,
Which of these two roles have I tried to play?
Am I a builder who works with care,
Measuring life by the rule and square?
Am I shaping my deeds by a well-made plan,
Patiently doing the best I can?
Or am I a wrecker who walks the town,
Content with the labor of tearing down?

Amazing!

So, recently in school I was given a project in school to find news articles from all the regions of the world, and I was looking around and I found many people claiming to be Christ. Then i came across this scripture when I wasn't really looking for it...

Click on the Scripture and it will take you to the LDS website to actually read it.

Scripture of the Day #5

Scripture: Joseph Smith History 1:16
But, exerting all my powers to call upon God to deliver me out of the power of this enemy which had seized upon me, and at the very moment when I was ready to sink into despair and abandon myself to destruction—not to an imaginary ruin, but to the power of some actual being from the unseen world, who had such marvelous power as I had never before felt in any being—just at this moment of great alarm, I saw a pillar of light exactly over my head, above the brightness of the sun, which descended gradually until it fell upon me.

Scripture #3

Scripture: D&C 89: 18-19

Thoughts:

So, I tried out for Soccer last week, and made it, so yeah! But I know I would not had made it if I didn't rely on the Lord, through lots and lots of prayer. Anyway, that is obviously not apart of the scripture of the day. I had my first soccer practice for my school team, and it was intense. I couldn't help but think of this scripture, and if you haven't read it yet then you should, because once you read it you will never forget it. In fact you should actually go and read the whole chapter, and trust me it may seem long, but it really isn't, the chapter I mean.

Scripture of the Day #2

Scripture: Matthew 1 and Matthew 2

Thought:
(ch. 1) I love how even after Joseph heard that Mary was having a child, and had a right to be concerned, he still trusted the Lord, especially after he was told the thing in her was of the Holy Ghost. I say that takes a lot of faith I don't care what anyone else says.
(ch. 2) The wise men seemed to be a neutral people at first, because they were sent by King Herod to kill the little child, which was Jesus. In the end though they decided not to when they saw him, because they were so filled with the Holy Ghost that they did not, and ended up helping them in the end.

By the way, today is my HALF BIRTHDAY!
YEAH!!!

Scripture of the Day #1

Scripture: Judges 16

Thoughts:

Never give into temptation no matter how tempting, because it will come back to us in the future, and wi will wish to die, or in other words have the mountains fall upon us/be covered and out of God's sight only because we will be so ashamed of our sins. It seems like to me even people like samson who are very blessed and have the spirit with them can get themselves into trouble that can even lead to death, but to me I don't think Samson was too bright, to me he was more of an airhead, because he was so clueless.

Friendship

Kindness

We can not tell the
precise moment when
friendship is formed.

As in filling a vessel
drop by drop there is
at last a drop which
makes it run over.

So in a series of
kindness there is at
last one drop which
makes the heart run over.

This poem just talks about, basically, is that not always are best friends made at the moment you meet them it some time happens very slowly, or in other words "drop by drop."
